Description
There are eighteen Maha Puranas in Sanatana Dharma, of which the Garuda Mahapuran is one and is very significant in a single life. It is an exchange between Garud dev and Lord Vishnu. The Garud Puran gives the deceased soul Mukti and explains the path a soul takes after death. The main goal of Garud Puran is to dispel curiosity about what happens after death and what’s on the other side. After listening to Garud Path, one learns what causes one to be saved and what brings tragedy into one’s life. In light of this, one should adjust their perspective and take the correct course.
Usually, a Garud Puran is held at home following the death of a loved one. Typically conducted in the evening, a Brahmin visits our home and recite the Garud Puran and performs Vishnu smaran.
How many days are needed to complete the Garud Puran?
Garud Puran should be followed for 13 days following death, beginning on the fourth day after death. If it is missed, it can be resumed on the seventh or ninth day and carried out through the thirteenth day. It takes place in the evening.
