Description

To commemorate Solah Somvar Vrat, devote 16 Mondays to Upwas and Puja to Lord Shankarji. In order to successfully complete the Sankalp for 16 Somvar Vrat, Monday, the 17th, is Udyapan. This vrat can be performed by young women who are eager to find a nice spouse or, for those whose marriage is on the back burner, by married women who wish to perform it for Happy Dampatya and receive blessings from Lord Shiva.

Any Monday in the month of Shukla Paksha or the Monday of Shravan can be used to begin this vrat. It is forbidden to observe this vrat throughout the menstrual cycle.

To perform Somvar Vrat Udyapan, one must perform Navgraha and Gauri Ganesh Kalash Matrika Pujas. On Shivalings, Lingatobadra Puja, Shiv Parivar Puja, and Rudrabhishek are conducted. Havan is performed together with Katha Shravanam.
