To call upon the blessings of Lord Rudra, the fiercest incarnation of Lord Shiva, Rudrabhishek Puja is done. The purpose of performing this puja is to get rid of and conquer whatever hurdles one may encounter in life. Before heading to war with Ravan, Lord Ram performed Rudrabhishek in Rameshwaram to ask Lord Shiva’s blessings.
To execute this puja, one must first invoke Lord Rudra, then chant the Rudra Suktha Mantra and perform Rudrabhishek.
When Should Rudrabhishek Puja Be Done?
Determine the day of the puja based on the individual’s thithi, yoga, and nakshatra.
Rudrabhishek is regarded auspicious during the month of Shravan, Karthik, and on important days like Maha Shivratri and Masik Shivratri. It is also considered auspicious on Mondays.
