Description
By offering this in the holy waters, the deceased soul will be assisted in breaking away from the cycle of rebirth and finding peace. Asthi is defined as a relic or a collection of ashes from deceased individuals. The deceased person’s remains will be gathered following the final ceremonies. The majority of it is knotted with a cloth. Ultimately, the submerged ashes will run into a peaceful body of water, such as a river. We refer to this entire immersion process as Asthi Visarjan.
Asthi Visarjan should always be carried out in accordance with the scriptural instructions. It is thought that the soul suffers if Asthi Visarjan is not performed in accordance with the sacred texts. These are either picked up on the day of cremation or on the third, seventh, or ninth day. It needs to be submerged in running water by the tenth day. It is preferable to pick up Asthi the third day after the cremation procedure. There are several locations where we practice Asthi Visarjan.
